AST develops both 2D and 3D deliverables for use by opportunistic and forward-looking design-build clients as they seek to streamline their construction delivery. Operating in concert with our design team, our steel detailing team works hand-in-hand with our engineers to deliver well-integrated and coordinated designs.

Using Tekla Structures, AST generates comprehensive and detailed LOD 400 models as part of our detailing services. Those models can then be used downstream for coordination.

AST develops both 2D and 3D connection data to confirm the design intent and further coordinate items that are missed in a typical LOD 300 structural model.

AST generates a variety of 2D deliverables as part of the steel detailing process including erection drawings, shop & fabrication drawings, and single part drawings.

Our unified team approach and experience allows us to develop a variety of special tools our Clients have access to. These include items such as preliminary material lists reports that can refine the bidding process at a much earlier stage than a traditional delivery.

When steel is on the critical path for a project, AST can help expedite the process by developing a steel detailing package with check-ready data for hand-off to the chosen fabricator. This allows for an expedited process while managing risk for those involved.
